Impacts on Society
It is hard to imagine what the world would be like without computers. Where would society be without computers and computer components such as processors, circuit boards, and even routers? Great advancements have been made because of this ingenious technology that benefits society.
The benefits of control systems that Computer Engineers have developed are numerous. Automation is used to save energy and materials and to improve quality and accuracy. It makes tasks easier. Automation saves labor, which can be viewed as a positive impact by a company, but as a
negative impact for a person who is no longer needed to do the task.
Computer engineers are the developers of computer chips that are in many surveillance cameras. Surveillance cameras have both a positive and negative impact on society. The security they give is a plus, but the invasion of privacy is a negative.
Computers have changed the way people learn. An entire library of knowledge is at one's fingertips anytime they can access a computer and the internet. Students can take online classes from their homes. Even some college courses are available online.
Computer Engineering has a great impact on society. Vast amounts of information are stored, retrieved, and shared through computer technology. There are some negative aspects of this technology, but the benefits that it has given to society are so great in comparison.
